Who We Are
Tyne Rope Access is a North East specialist building maintenance and industrial services company, working across the UK, Ireland and offshore.
Rope access is a major part of what we do, but it isn't the answer to every job. We also work with MEWPs, towers, scaffolding and other access methods where they make more sense. Our starting point is always the work that needs doing, then the safest and most practical way to reach it.
Our team is led by supervisors holding Level 3 IRATA qualifications, with all technicians trained and assessed by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association. Every member of our team is a CSCS card holder, and our Level 3 supervisors are also trained in First Aid.
We're not just about the method; we're about the result. A building free of pest birds, a coating system applied properly, an urgent repair made safe or a specialist contractor able to reach the work they need to do. That's what the client is actually paying for.
History
Tyne Rope Access was founded in North Shields, bringing IRATA-certified rope access services to building maintenance, bird control, and industrial clients across the North East.
Our work grew to cover projects across the wider UK, Ireland, and offshore support vessels - including emergency and confined space works in demanding environments such as ballast tanks.
Marking 10 years in business, we relaunched with a renewed focus on the outcomes that matter most to our clients - safe access, real results, and long-term partnerships.
Mission & Vision
We believe the access method should fit the job, not the other way around.
Our role is to understand what needs doing, assess the site properly and choose the safest, most practical way to get competent people to the work. Sometimes that's rope access. Sometimes it isn't. The result matters more than the method.
To become the North East's most trusted specialist contractor for difficult-access building and industrial work, known for the quality and reliability of what we deliver, not simply how we reach it.
To solve difficult maintenance and access problems safely, practically and with as little disruption as possible, from planned building maintenance to urgent industrial and offshore work.

Allan Duffin
MANAGING DIRECTOR - LEVEL 3 IRATA
With over 15 years' experience in industrial rope access, Allan leads every job on site - from bird control and industrial coatings to offshore emergency repairs. Level 3 IRATA qualified and First Aid trained.
